The Shag House

Rapturous Delight
Staying in the Shag House is like living inside a surrealist's mid-century dream. Every day we woke up in a blissed out world of jubilant color and joy. The design conception is executed flawlessly throughout the property - i.e., the bedroom themes (Chinese, Cats, Tiki, Travel) recur everywhere, and one could spend hours just enjoying the wall art and knick knacks alone. But note that this isn't just a house for show! The physical comfort matches the cerebral delights. The house is super comfortable, plush and snug, with plenty of seating areas inside and out. We especially liked the swinging bed by the pool. The house is fully automated, with remote controlled blinds, hot tub, and dimmer lights, among others, not to mention the Japanese style toilet in the cabana (the retro style combined with the futuristic technology felt like living with the Jetsons). The modern kitchen is filled with conveniences and plenty of kitchen supplies, including a fully automated espresso station. The spacious bar areas (inside and out) are fully equipped with every cocktail making accessory you could want, and the fire pit was a cozy refuge when the nights got chilly. Really, this house is perfect. And the good folks at Stay Poppy were helpful, responsive, cheerful and efficient during, before, and after our stay. We really lucked out with this management company and house. We'll be back for sure!

Perfection
We had a wonderful stay at the Shag house. We've stayed in many Palm Springs rentals, but this one is in a class of its own. The bar and kitchen are well appointed so entertaining inside and outside is a dream. Linens and bedding pamper you like you're in a high end hotel. The artwork, furnishings, and design are spot on & we felt like we were staying in one of Shag's paintings! Highly recommend and will stay again for sure!

Amazing!
As a long fan of Shag's work, booking the Shag house did not disappoint. Every inch of the house has touches of Shag, it really is spectacular. The house itself is large and well-appointed for hanging and entertaining, there are so many different areas to hang out that we could change the scenery and have a whole new experience. The beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are gorgeous, the kitchen is well-appointed for cooking, and the never-ending bar ice is welcome in the summer heat. For a truly unique and comfortable experience I can't recommend this place enough!

Stunning Palm Springs luxury home
Our stay at The Shag House a few months ago was truly incredible and unique. The house is like stepping into a Shag painting - squeal! So swanky and delightful! There were countless fun details throughout the house that highlight it's whimsy and uniqueness. The home is conveniently located and has all the amenities you would want in a luxury rental, and more! We enjoyed lounging by the pool, cooking in the well stocked kitchen and mixing cocktails in the lounge. We can't wait to return!

A True Palm Springs Experience
Every inch of this house lives up to the highest standards of Palm Springs. You don’t find many high end homes here without some sort of work by Shag, and now you can experience an entire home designed by the man himself. Truly stunning and a photo opp in every room, this property is more than a stay, it’s a true Palm Springs experience.

Breathtaking!
Stayed at The Shag House and was absolutely blown away by the house, the amenities and the attention to detail throughout! The house itself is a work of art - from the art to the furnishings down to the pillows everything exudes charm. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the outdoor areas are perfect for entertaining. We enjoyed beautiful days and nights by the pool and spent many hours relaxing in the living room and bar area. This place is built for luxury and relaxation! I loved it so much I’ve been back many times and I plan to go many more. If you want a place near everything and so amazing you won’t want to go anywhere else, this is for you!

Gorgeous home close to everything
We were looking for a private retreat close to everything for a trip to Palm Springs and the Shag House did not disappoint. The house is absolutely stunning inside and out. Inside, there are themed bedrooms with comfortable mattresses, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a great meal, there is an indoor bar/lounge area, and a large dining area that easily seats 6-8 people. There is artwork by the artist Shag throughout the house and his artistic touch can be seen on everything from the wallpaper in the bedrooms to the pillows on the couch. When we weren’t out and about in Palm Springs we spent most of our time enjoying the pool, where there is also another bar and lounge area, a dining area, and an outdoor kitchen. The hanging bed by the pool is a nice touch. We truly enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to our next stay here!
