Modernism week is one of the USA's most popular and prestigious annual design events, held every year in early February, bringing together professionals and fans seeking to celebrate the Palm Springs modern lifestyle. Held in multiple venues throughout the greater Palm Springs area, Palm Springs Modernism Week has grown in popularity and size each year. The event attracts thousands of visitors and MCM enthusiasts from nearby southern California, all parts of the USA, and around the globe.
This year's Palm Springs Modern celebration will include more then 100 featured events, and an exciting array of guest speakers who will offer insight and wisdom about a variety of topics relating to all things Mid Century Modern. The 16th Annual Palm Springs Modernism Show and Sale, a highlight of Modernism Week, kicks off the start of Modernism Week and is held at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event is a celebration of art, architecture and style. In addition to the show and sale, Modernism Week includes 11 days of educational events, fun-filled parties and architectural tours.
Modernism Week initially began as a weekend event and has now grown to include more than ten consecutive days of events that include Palm Springs Art Museum films, lectures and symposium, gallery openings and art events, double-decker bus tours to mid-century architectural classics, tours of Frey House II, vintage car show, a vintage streamline and modern Airstream travel trailers, plus the desert's best retro-themed soirees and martini parties.
